Tettnanger Rhizome Flavor
Noble German dual use hop used in European pale lagers and wheat beers, sometimes with Hallertau. Comes from Tettnang, a small town in southern Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The region produces significant quantities of hops, and ships them to breweries throughout the world. Substitutes: Saaz, Crystal. (Reference)

well established in the Tettnang growing region of Germany, and is also grown in Oregon and Washington. American grown
Tettnang is reported to have slightly higher myrcene levels than its German counterpart.

OTHER INFORMATION: Used as Fuggle replacement by a major U.S. brewer. Grown primarily in Oregon. 2100 acres grown in 1986 (mostly in Oregon) produced 3.4 million lbs (6.9% of U.S. production). Major acreage expansion in 1987. In 1997 Willamette ranked third in US hop acreage (7,578 acres) and produced 11.144 mill.lbs.
Description
An aroma variety grown mainly in the Tettnang region of southern Germany with good to moderate vigor, low to medium yield, good resistance to Verticillium Wilt and average resistance to Peronospora (Downy Mildew).
